Sue Humphers-Ginther, students attend Minnesota gerontological meeting

Sue Humphers-Ginther, Sociology and Criminal Justice, and four senior gerontology students (Marissa Maiers, Alison Nash-Gerlach, Jennifer Pippin-Anderson, and Muna Shrestha) attended the annual meeting of the Minnesota Gerontological Society in Brooklyn Center April 30. This year’s conference theme was “Be the Change: Innovative Models for an Aging Population”. Keynote Speaker, Dr. Rick Moody, Director of Academic Affairs for AARP, spoke on “Reminiscences of the 21st Century”, which offered pessimistic as well as optimistic scenarios for America as an aging society. In several breakout sessions, students learned about current research and how it translates into practice in our rapidly changing world of aging services.
