Prof. Norma Andersen honored by American Institute of Constructors

Prof. Norma Andersen, Construction Management, is the first woman to receive the W.A. Klinger Construction Education Award from the American Institute of Constructors. She received the award in April at the Institute’s annual forum in Chicago.

The award honors “a construction educator/academician who has distinguished him/herself in teaching, research, and/or service in the advancement of the construction profession, the nominee’s institution of learning, the construction industry and their country.” It was first awarded in 1976.

The American Institute of Constructors is the constructor’s counterpart of professional organizations found in architecture, engineering, law and other fields. As such, the Institute serves as the national qualifying body of professional constructors.
