MSUM Offers Grant Writing Bootcamp
MSUM is offering a Grant Writing Bootcamp May 17-21 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Hagen Hall 113. The course may be taken for noncredit at a cost of $287 plus the cost of the text. Optional CEUs are available to noncredit participants. The course may also be taken for three undergraduate or graduate credits at the regular tuition rate.
The workshop is intended for a diverse audience, including human service professionals. Participants will learn how to locate sources of money, tailor the needs of human service organizations to the funding priorities of grants, write the essential components of a grant, strategies for evaluation, and tips on administration through actually developing a proposal. Through consultation with the instructors, participants will then find ways to strengthen those proposals.
The workshop is taught by Shawn Ginther, professor of social work, and Susan Humphers-Ginther, professor of sociology and coordinator of the gerontology major at MSUM. Both presenters have over a decade of experience with grant writing and administration while associated with numerous private, state and federal projects.
