February student leaders of the month

The Student Organization Advisory Committee is pleased to present the following for achieving the February of the Month Awards for their outstanding leadership: Bijay Lama–Student Organization Leader of the Month; Habitat for Humanity–Student Organization of the Month; Jered Pigeon–Student Organization Advisor for the Month.

Bijay Lama, as president of the Nepali Student Association, has shown himself to be a confident and skilled leader. Upon organizing events for NSA, Bijay provides creative input and also desires feedback from its members. Bijay’s personality is always cheerful and sincere, and this has made him approachable. Bijay has an ability to encourage and influence people to participate in events and to also have fun while doing it. Even outside of the organization, Bijay is more than willing to provide advice and service to his fellow students and community. For his outstanding performance as a leader, Bijay Lama is deserving of the Student Organization Leader of the Month Award. Congratulations Bijay!

Habitat for Humanity is constantly serving the Fargo-Moorhead community and the nation. Every year, Habitat for Humanity plans a service trip that aims to help low income families and broaden the scope of its members. These spring break trips center around providing a service and building relationships. Members gain a vast amount of knowledge and develop life-changing attitudes. Habitat for Humanity is also involved in the Fargo-Moorhead community, providing volunteers for building projects. Habitat for Humanity spreads service throughout our community that fulfills MSUM’s mission “to shape a changing the world.” Habitat for Humanity’s integrity has earned the recognition as the Student Organization of the Month. Jered Pigeon is committed to motivating and supporting the Umoja Student Association and other numerous student organizations. Pigeon’s inspiring conversations with students provide a tremendous foundation of support. Jered Pigeon is able to help bring ideas into realization and create an end result that allows members to educate the campus community. Pigeon is a great mentor to students and student organizations. Jered Pigeon’s encouragement has allowed individuals to grow and reach their true potential. These qualities that Jered Pigeon possesses are the reasons why he has been honored with the Student Organization Advisor of the Month Award. Congratulations!
