Book talk date changed to Nov. 19

The next faculty development book talk on “A whole new mind: Why right-brainers will rule the future” has been rescheduled to Thursday, Nov. 19 at noon in CMU 214. Daniel Pink’s New York Times and Business Week Bestseller is sure to create a lively discussion for students and faculty alike. Chris Malone from the Psychology Department and Alison Turen from the Counseling Center will lead the discussion. Free books as always–email Steve Grineski and agree to attend the event. Microsoft promotions ending October 31st

Currently Microsoft is offering two promotions for students and employees on the MSUM eSoftware Store Front that are scheduled to end October 31st. Microsoft Office Enterprise has been discounted since the beginning of fall term, making it less expensive than Office Professional Pro. MSUM has also been a pilot sight for their Download Option program. Effective November first, we expect the price to increase about $45 when both options cease. and log in with your Dragon ID and PIN to take advantage of these savings. Please note that the download option is not available with Office 2008 for Mac.

Library children’s book Sale Nov. 4-5

On Wednesday, Nov. 4 and Thursday, Nov. 5, the Library will be selling children’s picture books appropriate for preschoolers through 6th graders. All books were published in 2008 and are in excellent condition. The sale will be held in the Library Circulation lobby from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Books will be bargained price at $6.00 each or two for $10.00. Proceeds from the sale will help support the Library’s Comstock Reading Aloud Initiative. For further information, contact Korella Selzler (selzler@mnstate.edu).
