It takes only a few pennies each hour of work for Minnesota’s state employees to make a big difference in the lives of thousand of individuals. Support MSUM’s Combined Charities Campaign and help make 2009 a year to remember! The State of Minnesota set out to raise $1 million through the State Employee’s Combined Charities Campaign this year, and to date 2,675 state employees have donated $875,000.00 this year. Thrond receives honorary membership

The Upsilon Sigma chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society at MSUM, awarded Professor Mary Thrond an Honorary Membership in a ceremony on November 12, 2009. Professor Thrond has worked as an adjunct and fixed term professor in the department of Languages and Cultures for over 5 years. She was recognized for her commitment to and demonstrated record of foreign language education both at the university and in the Fargo-Moorhead community. Click headline to read more.

Music student places 2nd in MN competition

Congratulations to Erin Berns who took second place in the Senior Men’s Division at the Minnesota National Association of Teachers of Singing (MN-NATS) vocal competition. Annually, voice teachers from all Minnesota state and private schools enter their top students in this event. Erin qualified to sing in the final concert and was given a cash award for his accomplishment. He is a music education major and a vocal student of Dr. Jenny Dufault.
