Homecoming 2009 Winners
Homecoming 2009 hosted a variety of competitions and is pleased to announce the winners.
The Homecoming parade had three categories. Entries were judged based on crowd response, school spirit and enthusiasm.
Moorhead High School category: Winner-MHS Football Senior Moms
Community category: Winner-Moorhead Youth Soccer
MSUM category: Winner-Instructional Resources
Sand Volleyball Tournament: Winner is Suds and Bubbles, Team Captain Andrew McKenzie
Office Decorating Contest: Entries were judged on dedication to the theme, originality and school spirit.
1st place: Psychology Department
2nd place: Orientation and Transitions Office
3rd place: Film/Comm studies/Theater arts office
Chili Cookoff: Chili was judged based on flavor, aroma and consistency. All those who wished to sample chili were able to vote.
1st place: Brittany Goodman’s MSUM MMMMM All Start chili
2nd place: Teri Walseth’s Sweet Dragon’s Breath chili
3rd place: Doug Peter’s Dragon FIRE chili
Variety Show: Contestants were judged on overall performance, talent, originality and audience response
1st place: Yasu’s Japanese Magic Show
2nd place: Japanese Dance Team – Soran Bushi
3rd place: My Dear Beatrice – Definite & So Much
Coronation: With over 1,000 votes cast, the 2009 Queen is Amanda Cashman & King Al Odden
Last but not least the Homecoming Spirit Award was earned by Dragon Athletics. Edna’s All Stars came in a not so close second with Social and Natural Sciences in third.
Prizes and certificates and glory are given to the winners of each contest. Thank you to all who participated in and assisted with Homecoming 2009.
