1. Approval of the 9-15-09 APAC Minutes
Schwartz moved. Hill seconded to approve the 9-15-09 APAC minutes.
Motion carried unanimously.
2. Minor Changes – University Writing Committee approval or Dragon Core Committee approval designated by (W) or (DC).
Philosophy Department
PHIL 235: Philosophy of Sex and Love (3 crs) in the Middle Cluster, DC 7: Human Diversity effective Spring 2010 (DC)
There were no concerns, approved as announced.
3. New Courses – University Writing Committee approval or Dragon Core Committee approval designated by (W) or (DC)
Philosophy Department
Ted Gracyk was present to answer questions.
Williams moved. Hill seconded to approve the following new course:
PHIL 358: Peace and War (3 crs) in the Outer Cluster, DC 8: Global Perspective effective Spring 2010 (DC)
Motion carried unanimously.
Sociology and Criminal Justice Department
Joel Powell was present to answer questions.
Leonard moved. Hill seconded to approve the following new course:
CJ 380: Global Criminal Justice (3 crs) in the Outer Cluster, DC 8: Global Perspective effective Spring 2010 (DC)
Discussion:
Some members questioned how class participation and attendance would be judged when deciding if a student should receive a reduced grade.
Motion carried with 9 in favor, 0 opposed, 2 abstentions.
4. Program Proposals
Philosophy Department
Ted Gracyk was present to answer questions.
Hill moved. Williams seconded to approve the following:
Update the Philosophy minor to reflect course numbering change PHIL 115 to PHIL 215 effective Fall 2009.

Curriculum and Instruction Department
Boyd Bradbury was present to answer questions.
Gillett moved. Jenson seconded to approve the following:
Replication of Masters in Curriculum and Instruction, emphasis in Literacy or Technology, at Fertile, MN effective Spring 2010.
Motion carried unanimously.
Speech/Language/Hearing Science Department
P. Sando moved. Mafla-Bustamante seconded to approve the following:
Reduce B.S. in Speech Language Hearing Science from 128 crs to 120 crs to comply with MnSCU requirements effective Fall 2009.
Motion carried unanimously.
