Umoja 2009-10 Kick off Sept. 17
All Dragons are invited to the Umoja 2009-10 kick-off event Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. in the CMU ballroom. The event will include: 1) Information regarding Umoja’s Mission and Activities; 2) Internship Opportunities for Centro Cultural; 3) Guest Speaker Dr. David Bailey MD, Surgeon Meritcare Health Systems; 4) How to become a member and meet current Members; and 5) Free Food.
Kick Off Meeting will be followed by “Hip-Hop U Don’t Stop”. This event will include LIVE Performances in the MSUM ballroom from 9 p.m.-12 a.m. featuring performances by: Yasu “The Great Magician”, All-Star Break Dancing Group, Sugga Shane, DJ Nola, Swagga Bois Ft. Brady Baxter, Young Triz, T-Lo, Envi and Charlie Calloway. $5 cover
Umoja Student Association is a student organization that aims to strengthen and accentuate the liaison between students of African Heritage and the Tri-College campuses and the community. Umoja hosts cultural events each year in order to fulfill this goal, such as MLK Day, Pan-African Night, Black History Month Programs, and multiple social events with music, friendship, and food… Umoja builds leaders today for tomorrow’s success!
