New Rivers Press: The “Little Press on the Prairie”

Publishers Weekly recently featured New Rivers Press in an article called “Little Press on the Prairie.” The article can be read in its entirety at http://www.publishersweekly.com/article/CA6691926.html Publishers Weekly is highly regarded as the premier international news magazine about book publishing and selling.

New Rivers Press–now in its new location at 108 Weld Hall–is a teaching press, one of only a handful in the nation. In collaboration with MSUM since 2001, New Rivers Press offers a Certificate in Publishing. The program provides the opportunity for students to learn about small press publishing and to experience writing, publishing, and marketing processes. Each year, 20-25 students work in teams to edit and design five books. As of this fall, New Rivers Press will have published 33 books since its move from Minneapolis to MSUM, and more than 300 books since its creation in 1968.

Everyone is invited to stop by and learn more about New Rivers Press during our Open House Wednesday, September 30, 2009; 11:30am-1:30pm, 108 Weld Hall.
