26 MSUM Students Earn $27,000 in School of Business Scholarships

Twenty-six MSUM students received over $27,000 in scholarships at the annual School of Business banquet last week.

The School of Business includes programs in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Management and International Business.

Students receiving scholarships are: Courtney Wille, Peter Weiderholt, Becky Schauland, Jennifer Fetting, Cory Mattson, Brittany Boeve, Josh Buetow, Olivi Solangaarachchi, Kenneth Palar, Garrett Henrich, David Schuster, Thomas George, Cody Bendickson, Mary Johnson, Chad Johnson, Subha Gyawali, Raeanna Benjamin, Katie MacRae, Subhechhaya Shrestha, Sanel Subasic, Dayna Engberg-Gerdes, Jenny Centko, Sulav Sigdel, Aaron Myhre, Cody Neumiller and Christopher Hamilton.

To be eligible for the scholarships, students must be enrolled in a School of Business major and must meet specific grade point average and completed credits criteria. MSUM’s School of Business is able to award the scholarships because of the generosity of alumni, professional organizations and private individuals.

Four students received a R.D. Koppenhaver Exam Scholarships sponsored through the North Dakota CPA Society Foundation and Eide Bailly: Courtney Wille, Peter Weiderholt, Cody Bendickson and Mary Johnson.

Business Administration Research Prize is a cash award to a student(s) who authors or co-authors a paper with a faculty member and whose paper is deemed of publishable quality in an academic or professional journal, or of likely acceptance for presentation at a professional or academic conference. This year’s recipient was Vaneesha Dusoruth.

The accounting faculty each year nominates an outstanding accounting graduate. Brittany Spitzer was the recipient of the 2008-09 outstanding accounting graduate award.
