AmeriCorps Positions Available this Summer
The Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation is pleased to announce that it has 10 AmeriCorps VISTA member position openings for August 2009 to support its Tutoring Partnership. These positions are open for immediate application with a start date of August 8, 2009.
Interested candidates should do the following:

3. For ‘Program Type’ choose ‘ Americorps VISTA ’
4. For ‘State’ choose ‘ Minnesota ’
5. For ‘Program Name’ type ‘ tutor ’
6. Apply for either or both of the SPPS Foundation postings listed.
All applicants will be contacted by Foundation staff within 5-7 working days upon receipt of application. Successful applicants will be invited for phone and/or in-person interviews beginning May 1. Positions have a required start date of August 8, 2009 (with service completion August 7, 2010).
Candidates must have graduated with a four-year college degree by August 2009 and be prepared for a one-year service commitment. VISTA members will focus on capacity building of volunteer tutoring programs to serve students. Applicants with interest and/or experience in teaching/education, counseling, community organization, leadership, volunteer recruitment, tutoring, or program development are encouraged to apply.
About the SPPS Foundation’s Tutoring Partnership: The Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation coordinates a city-wide tutoring initiative called the Tutoring Partnership for Academic Excellence. Our goal is to ensure high-quality, consistent tutoring for students in Saint Paul Public Schools. The Tutoring Partnership currently includes 14 community partners serving over 2,000 students and is expanding directly to nine (9) Saint Paul Public School sites beginning fall 2009.
