AmeriCorps Members to be Honored Tuesday
From Inforum.com: In celebration of AmeriCorps Week, the YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties will host AmeriCorps Recognition Day at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Fargo YMCA, 400 1st Ave. S. Featured AmeriCorps members include two MSUM students, Shanna Weller and Jesse White.
Shanna Weller is completing her second 900-hour term and is a mentor at YMCA Child Care at Lodoen in West Fargo. She works one on one with children with identified needs. She will graduate this month from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a degree in education and will be attending graduate school at MSUM to study counseling.
Jesse White is in his first term and is a homework club supervisor for the YMCA school-age program at the Schlossman Branch in Fargo. He works with children to complete homework assignments using the game Homework-opoly. He is a student at MSUM majoring in elementary education, social studies and sociology.
Aaron Hoppe is completing his second 900-hour term of service and is a supervisor in the YMCA’s XerZone. He is a student at North Dakota State University majoring in agricultural systems management.
