HOLLYWOOD VISUAL EFFECTS PRODUCER SPEAKS TUESDAY ON BREAKING INTO INDUSTRY

Emmy-award winning visual effects producer Camille Cellucci, who’s worked on films ranging from “Titanic” to “The Matrix Reloaded,” will present a lecture on how to break into the industry and discuss her experiences working on films at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 7 in MSUM’s Weld Hall Glasrud Auditorium.

The use of digital special effects has drastically changed the film industry for the better, and Cellucci has been one of the leaders responsible for this technological movement. A visual effects specialist, Cellucci will incorporate her experiences in the film industry with an interactive learning program that is designed to convince her audience, especially college students, that hard work, persistence and determination are the building blocks students must have to attain their career goals.

After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley, Cellucci created the Industrial Light and Magic’s intern program and worked on the films “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” “Willow,” “Always,” “The Abyss,” “Invisible Man” and “Meteor Man.” She then joined Sony Pictures Imageworks as a producer, involved with such films as “Speed,” “Phenomenon,” “The Ghost and The Darkness,” “Michael” and “City Of Angels”. Some of her most recent credits include producing visual effects sequences for “The Matrix” sequels: “Matrix Reloaded,” “Matrix Revolutions” and “Reign of Fire”.
