Ice Cream Social for Coleen Roller

Coleen has been a faithful employee for well over 30 years and has had a significant impact on the preschool children she taught and the many college students she advised over the years. She will be truly missed.

Ken Smemo passes away

Kenneth Smemo, a long-serving faculty member at Minnesota State University Moorhead, passed away June 29 at age 86.

Please keep Ken’s family and friends in your thoughts during this difficult time.

A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead.

Retired MSUM professor Anoush Khoshkish passes away

Anoush Khoshkish, a retired MSUM professor, passed away on the morning of May 28, 2017, at home in New York City. He leaves behind his wife, constant companion and best friend of 36 years, Irene R. Miller.

Little camper gives builder a big thrill

When John Early retired from teaching English at Minnesota State University Moorhead last spring, he didn’t want to just sit at home.

“I wanted to do some traveling, and I didn’t want to spend a lot of money doing it,” he says.

In particular, he didn’t want to spend a lot of money on hotels when all he was looking for was a place to sleep after a long day’s drive.

MSUM archaeologist retires after 40 years in the trenches

MOORHEAD—When Mike Michlovic arrived at Minnesota State University Moorhead to start a field anthropology program, he said he was told to not bother digging in the Red River Valley because there’s nothing here.

MikeMForty years and a dozen archaeological sites later, he and his students have discovered much about the life of the ancient American Indians who lived here thousands of years ago.
