We have reports of borrowers receiving high pressure phone calls from companies who say they are calling from “The Department of Education” then proceed to give erroneous information about loan forgiveness programs ending and that you have only 24 or 48 hours to “get in on it” or “this is your last chance.”
These calls are from predatory companies who typically charge significant fees for their “services” and do NOT represent the Department of Education in any way. For accurate (and FREE) loan information, or to report this type of contact, call the assigned loan servicer for your federal student loans. If you do not know who your servicer is or need contact information, please call our office. Don’t become a victim to their financial fraud!
