Why’d They Kill Dr. King, and Did It Work? 4 Ways to Resurrect the Dream

Tuesday, Feb. 27 | 6-8 p.m. | CMU Ballroom

Guest speaker Odell Bizzell will be presenting “Why’d They Kill Dr. King, and Did It Work? 4 Ways to Resurrect the Dream.” The presentation will not cover the numerous conspiracy theories surrounding the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., but instead will analyze what Dr. King stood for and discuss his dynamic leadership style and how it impacted the Civil Rights Movement and how it impacts us now. Audience members will learn: why Dr. King’s strategies worked and how we can use the principles now to bring about change, what diversity is and how to utilize it in everyday life, and how to become a successful leader and advocate of a cause you are passionate about. Q&A (CMU Ballroom) and diversity dialogue/debrief (Intercultural Center) to follow presentation.
