Tour Tips

Posted on March 13, 2017

Picking what school you are going to continue your higher education at is a big deal. So you want to make sure you make a good choice. Touring schools can have a big impact on that choice.

Many schools are similar in terms of programs and activities. But each school has its own unique feel and atmosphere. Going on a tour is one of the best ways to experience the feel of the school.

There are a few things I want to share with you that could make your tour of MSUM the best experience possible.

  1. If you have an area of interest that you think you want to major in, let the admissions office know when setting up your tour. This way we can personalize the tour by focusing on the buildings your classes would be in. We can also try to give you a tour guide who is majoring in that area.
  2. Consider meeting with a faculty member. At MSUM, we can make an appointment for you to sit down with a faculty member in your area of interest. This can be a great way for you to learn more about the program and the opportunities you would have in that major. Just let us know you are interested in meeting with someone when you sign up for a tour.
  3. Ask questions. We will do our best to give you as much information as possible, but we want to make sure that you learn everything you want to know. So prepare some questions that you have and don’t be afraid to speak up and ask them.
  4. Say ‘Hi’ to the squirrels. (This one will make more sense once you get on campus.)

We want you to love your tour of campus. If we can do anything to make your experience better, just ask!

Here at MSUM we offer tours Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.. We can also do special requests tours if those times do not work for you.
