Saturday’s production of The Jungle Book drew large crowd

Saturday’s production of The Jungle Book drew more than 1,400 people for two afternoon performances in Hansen Theatre. The children’s theatre production is an annual event of the University Theatre Series that also draws thousands of school-age children for field-trip presentations during the school-day. This year, 13 school-day shows took place from Nov. 13 to 24 for 8,200 children from schools in the region. In conjunction with the Saturday performances, The Red River Zoo held animal demonstrations, drawing more than 500 people to the Gaede Stage where students met a porcupine, ball python and a parrot.
