Five students presented papers at the 47th Annual Phi Alpha Theta Student History Conference at the University of South Dakota (Vermillion) on April 19.

  • Greg Burris, “Minister Takes Rook:  Otto von Bismarck and the Schleswig-Holstein Crisis”
  • Anna Knutson, “False Misconceptions:  Nazi Propaganda and the Fall of Berlin”
  • Josh Gates, “Arlan Stangeland and the Art of the Earmark”
  • Spencer McGrew, alumni, current geography masters student at UND, and Carson Starkey commented on papers.

The students were supervised by Professors Paul Kramer and Margaret Sankey of the Political Science Department, and Dr. Kramer offered commentary to a session on Legal and Constitutional History.
