MSUM mass communications advertising students took first place in the District 8 American Advertising Federation’s National Student Advertising Competition held in Minneapolis. For this competition, the students presented an integrated marketing plan for Nissan targeted to multi-cultural millennials, specifically Chinese, Hispanic and African Americans. The final rankings were as follows:

1st Place: Minnesota State University Moorhead
2nd Place: University of Minnesota Twin Cities
3rd Place: St. Cloud State University
4th Place: St. Cloud Technical College
5th Place: University of Wisconsin Osh Gosh
6th Place: South Dakota State University
7th Place: University of Minnesota Duluth
8th Place: University of St. Thomas
9th Place: North Dakota State University

The MSUM team will now participate in the national competition against 14 other district winners. This competition will be held at the American Advertising Federation’s national convention held June 2-5 in Austin, Texas.
