We look for candidates who enjoy helping people, possess good communication skills and leadership potential, and have positive attitudes. Compensation for our Resident Assistants includes a double-as-single room with Microfridge and meal plan. A complete job description and application can be found online.

If you think the RA position is for you, please consider coming to one of our RA Information Sessions. We will have one today at 8 p.m. in the Grantham Lounge, and another on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. in the Grantham Lounge. Attendance at an info. session is NOT a required part of the application process, rather, it is an opportunity for you to learn more about the position and to talk with some of our current RAs about their experiences.

If you choose to apply, the application deadline for new Resident Assistants is Friday, Feb. 3 at 4:00 p.m. Completed applications will include the application form with attached essay, two references from professionals (faculty/teacher, supervisor, Area Director, etc.), and a reference from your current RA. Please return all completed materials to the Department of Housing and Residential Life, located in Ballard Hall. All candidates will attend our “Carousel” Interview Day, which will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11, and will consist of group/teamwork exercises and a brief individual interview. Our top candidates from Carousel will advance to the Individual Interview, which will be held the week of Feb. 20, and will consist of a brief presentation followed by an interview with our current Graduate Area Directors and Area Directors. All second round candidates will be informed of their status by Tuesday, March 6.
