Dolores “Dee” Gregor, a GMW who retired from MSUM in April 2005, died Nov. 7. She served 25 years at the university.
FARGO, N.D. – Dolores “Dee” Gregor, 69, Fargo, died Wednesday in her home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., Sunday at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, West Fargo. Burial will be in Holy Cross North Cemetery, Fargo.
A reception to honor Dr. Rod Rothlisberger, Music, is set for Saturday, Oct. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Studio 222, 222 Broadway, in Fargo. Appetizers and a cash bar will be provided. Rothlisberger retired last spring after 50 years of teaching music and conducting vocal ensembles. The last 17 years of his career were spent at MSUM, where he taught choral and vocal music education, directed choirs and chaired the department for several years. Read the rest of this entry →
Floyd Brown who was the Director of Admissions for 30 years at MSUM has died. Bolger Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements. Visitation will be this Sunday from 5-7 p.m., and a prayer service will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. at Elam Care Center.
The funeral is Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Nativity Catholic Church.

Doris Walker-Dalhouse, STL professor emerita, and Victoria Risko, professor emerita at Vanderbilt University and 2012 President of the International Reading Association, wrote a book that was published by Teachers College Press. The title of the book is “Be that Teacher! Breaking the Cycle for Struggling Readers.”
Walker-Dalhouse and Risko will be autographing their book on Thursday, May 1, at the 57th International Reading Association conference in Chicago, Ill.
Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) professor emeritus Yvonne Condell has been named the 2012 Outstanding Volunteer of the Year by the Minnesota Credit Union Network (MnCUN). The award recognizes Condell’s noble service as a volunteer of Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union who exemplifies the credit union spirit through dedication to, and belief in, the credit union movement.
She was honored at the April 14 awards banquet as part of the MnCUN’s annual meeting in St. Paul. Read the rest of this entry →

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – A longtime Minnesota State University Moorhead professor has died in a hit-and-run crash here. Ben Lin, 72, was walking from his home to an exercise class Thursday morning when he was struck by an SUV while crossing the street, said Capt. David Verbruggee of the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.

Judy A. Strong, 69, Moorhead, MN, died Friday, April 15, 2011, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.
Judith Ann Strong was born on June 19, 1941, to Philip and Hilda Strong in Cooperstown, New York. She grew up in Van Hornesville, New York, and graduated from high school there as valedictorian. She was involved with 4-H for 11 years, the most they offer. Following her graduation, she attended SUNY in Albany, NY, and graduated in 1963. In 1965, she went to Brandeis University in Boston, Massachusetts, majoring in chemistry. She completed her PhD in physical chemistry 1969. That year, she accepted a position at Moorhead State College in the Chemistry Department.
While at MSUM, Judy was involved with the Minnesota and MSU Science Fairs. In 1985 she was appointed Dean of Natural and Social Sciences. After 10 years, she was appointed Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs. She retired in 2008 after 38 years only to experience her journey with endometrial cancer.
