Lisa Stewart, psychology, has work on early literacy presented in the California Research Institute, with colleages Kate Horst of Minnesota Reading Corps and Irene Frieberg and Susan True from Santa Cruz, Calif.
First 5 presented a paper titled “Making Powerful Outcomes Happen: Using Child and Teacher Assessment to Secure Early Literacy Skills” at the California Head Start Edward Zigler Western Research Institute in Orange County, Calif. on Jan. 31, 2012.
The group presented evidence of early childhood educator professional development outcomes and child literacy improvements across two large implementation projects, one in Minnesota and the other in California.
